SHOWCASES & PRODUCTION
Allison Elizabeth Burns creates opportunities for emerging and established dance artists to present work and collaborate with mentors. She has been producing dance works and showcases since 2007. She believes in the power of community where artists can share resources, ideas, audiences, and truly learn from each other.
Her latest showcase, For the Love of Dance, was a multi-style dance showcase presented at Arts Court Theatre, Ottawa, in May 2019. In 2018 she co-produced the contemporary dance showcase, Inside Out, with her mentee Chelsea Passmore, thanks to the support of the Ottawa Dance Directive. In 2017 in Ottawa she produced the multidisciplinary showcase, How to Live Forever as a fundraiser. She is a co-founder and former artistic producer of the Montreal-based Bouge d’ici Dance Festival (2007-2016).

Allison has worked for several dance and theatre companies in a variety of roles. She has been the artistic manager of the Ottawa StoryTellers and an administrative assistant for Arzoo Dance Theatre. She is a co-founder and former artistic producer of the Bouge d’ici Dance Festival. Allison was the communications director for the 25th anniversary of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival. She has also worked for the Segal Centre, Centaur Theatre and MainLine Theatre.
