Allison Elizabeth Burns is making connections and collaborative opportunities between artists, audiences, and communities to empower experiential and visceral interactions with dance. This event showcases her new screendance repertoire which includes commissioned work, festival selections, experimental collaboration, and a world premiere.

The showcase will be available to ticket holders from Wednesday, March 23 at noon until Sunday, March 27 at midnight. Allison is hosting a virtual artist chat over Zoom on Saturday, March 26 at 2pm EDT, available to all ticket holders. Upon purchase you will gain access to a private webpage where you can access both the videos and Zoom link for the duration of the event.

The Debate (2021)

A short, topical dance film about derisive conversations polarizing groups. Choreography adapted from a stage presentation developed in residency at the Ottawa Dance Directive in 2019. Film created for and presented at Nextfest 2021, curated by Good Women Dance. Official selection of the Ottawa Canadian Film Festival and the MIVSC São Carlos Videodance Festival 2021. Featuring Sarah Hopkin and Geoffrey Dollar. A video production mentorship with Izabel Barsive for this project was supported by the Ontario Arts Council.

The Crone (2022)

A short film adaptation of Allison Elizabeth Burns' 2018 work, We Three, commissioned by Dancer's Studio West and the Alberta Dance Festival. The film is a solo performed by original collaborating performer, Elizabeth Emond-Stevenson. This will be the world premier of the film.

Dreams (2020)

Music video choreography and performance commissioned by UK-based composer and musician, Doll Normal (Erica Lee Martin). Videos for the entire album - also titled Dreams - were created during the pandemic with artists collaborating long-distance.

All Dressed Up (to walk the dog) (2020)

A short, solo dance film created in the early days of the pandemic in reaction to a new normal. Commissioned by the 2020 Bouge d’ici/This is Not a Fringe online festival. Screened as a part of both the 2021 Bouge d'ici Dance Festival and as FringeMTL Encore Programming.

Choreography Days (2020)
A selection from 20 choreographies created and recorded in 20 days. This project was initiated and directed by México-based Polish & American dance artist, Hania Szymczak, who provided theme prompts and music options for each of the 20 days.
